World Weekly News RIP

A whole era has come to an end: America's zaniest tabloid, the World Weekly News, has folded and, with it, a special sort of journalism living outside the framework of common sense and fact-checking.

Or perhaps not all that different - given what's become of American journalism in the last 25 years. Sometimes, only parody really brings out the real nature of contemporary journalism. WWN could often not be distinguished from parody.
